When Donna and I first talked about getting all of my finances out where I could actually see them, I had no idea how much it would change things.
I gathered all the information about my money situation - bills, debts, credit, invoices, and income - out of my proverbial closet and laid it all out in front of me.
Confronting my financial skeletons, I could finally see the whole picture.
That clarity changed everything. I finally understood exactly where I stood and what I needed. Once I had everything organized, I was comfortable being honest that I could use some help.
Not long after, a friend offered me an interest-free loan so I could consolidate my debt—something I never would have imagined would happen. Admitting to myself that I needed help, and putting that energy into the world, opened the door for the kindness of another to change my entire trajectory.
And because I had already been working with Donna through all of this, I understood my finances completely and was able to say 'Yes!' to the universe with confidence!
Now, looking back, if I hadn't been able to see everything so clearly in front of me, I might have missed that opportunity.
Making all aspects of my money visible to me, and confronting my financial behaviors -was the turning point.
It gave me clarity, confidence, and put the decision back in my hands.
Before working with Donna, I had financial information everywhere and never felt like I could see the whole picture. My finances were never clear to me because I thought I’d be overwhelmed by looking! I was never confident that spending X amount of money on “fun” things wasn’t negatively impacting my budget because I didn’t want to know. And what I don’t know can’t hurt me, right? Wrong!
Donna showed me many of the tools she uses to track her incoming revenue, outgoing expenses, balancing her budget and it actually looked fun to me, not overwhelming.
I use her techniques now. And the one thing I am most amazed about is that, at any given time, I know exactly what I have (and what I don’t), and when it’s okay to spend on fun — because not only do I now know how to budget right, but everything is also so beautifully organized! Who knew this was possible for me?
